Detox, The Not-So-Scary Way
The thought of embarking on “a cleanse” can be intimidating for anyone, because it impacts normal daily routine, and often requires making lots of “sacrifices”. It usually means changing your diet, detox shakes two or three times a day, drinking lots of water, exercise and so on. Gentle detox can be utilized anytime or all the time and can be as simple as a Liver-GI detox supplement paired with fiber. A good fiber routine might include Modified Citrus Pectin fiber on an empty stomach in the morning, and Glucomannan at night, and there are a lot of good detox supplements to choose from. Gentle daily detox takes longer to mobilize and eliminate toxins, but is a great way to introduce patients to a detoxification protocol because it will minimize detox reactions. Other advantages are:
- It slowly begins enhancing the detoxification and elimination process, making any future detox program more effective and thorough.
- It’s convenient: the products are available as capsules, and can be brought along when traveling – no messy powders or blender bottles needed.
- One or two simple but important daily diet changes can be implemented without much impact to routine.
For those who exercise or enjoy yoga, incorporating “hot yoga” once or twice a week or any exercise which stimulates sweating will further speed the elimination of toxins.
Instead of torturing yourself with the “cold turkey” approach, incorporating a gentle detox routine may be just the motivation to “get serious” about it in the future!
