Using Protocols to Save Massive Time in Practice!
is an online dispensary powered by Emerson Ecologics, one of the largest distributors of professional grade vitamins and supplements. It helps practitioners do more for their patients and their practice.
At Wellevate, we’re all about making the doctor/patient experience easier and more productive. And one of the most time-saving features in Wellevate is the protocol feature.
Wellevate protocols let you create shoppable recommendations you can send to patients with just a few clicks. That’s how your patients are able to get exactly what you recommend for their health.
Protocols also allow you to include personal messages, product and dosage recommendations, and attachments like diet guides or daily exercise routines. When you see a patient who might benefit from your protocol, simply add it to their dashboard. It’s a real time saver!
And now, our public protocol feature makes it even easier to recommend products to your patients for better outcomes and better business results. It’s a simple way to share your protocols with all of your patients and kickstart your Wellevate Virtual Dispensary®.
Protocols not only encourage better patient outcomes, they also drive better business results. By showing patients exactly what they need, how much they should take, and where to find it (your Wellevate Virtual Dispensary®), patients are more likely to comply. In fact, over 60% of patients purchase practitioner-recommended products*, which goes a long way when it comes to growing your practice and improving patient outcomes.
Here are a few tips to save the most time and get the most out of the protocols feature:
Build your library as you go.
When you build a recommendation for a patient with a condition or concern, save their treatment plan as a protocol before you send it to the patient. Give the protocol a name and save it to your “My Protocols” section with a click. Even if you edit and refine the protocol over time, you have a jump start next time you see a patient with a similar condition or concern walk through your door.
Create comprehensive protocols for the conditions and concerns you see most often.
For example, you could create a protocol for cardiovascular health where you add all of the products that you might use along with their recommended dosages. When you go to send the protocol, you can quickly delete any products that aren’t right for that particular condition.
You can take a similar approach by including a few handouts on “nutrition for cardiovascular health,” “vegetarian nutrition for cardiovascular health” and “exercise for cardiovascular health.” When you see your patient, you can quickly delete any handouts that aren’t relevant to them!
Starting off with a comprehensive protocol first means that when you use it, you’re just trimming it back and don’t have to search for products or handouts when it’s time to send. This can save you time on busy clinic days.
Browse the Wellevate Expert Protocols Library.
The Wellevate Expert Protocols library is one of the most clinically useful features within Wellevate. Leading integrative experts in their field have shared the protocols they use with their own patients. This may be helpful, particularly when you are approaching something new to you, or you have a patient who has not responded to your usual recommendations.
Our Wellevate Expert Protocols library contains dozens of clinical protocols with handouts, product recommendations, and custom notes. You can add the protocols you like to your own library, and edit and customize them as you see fit so that you can easily use them with your patients.
We owe many thanks to the wonderful experts who have generously shared their clinical pearls and secrets for success!
Patients are unique and individualized medicine is still essential.
As you know, every patient is unique, and with that, their individual needs are unique, too. Some patients may need a nutrition guide that accounts for their food intolerances. Other patients will have ingredients they can’t take, or perhaps they can’t swallow pills and you need to swap something out for a powder, tincture, or liquid. Or perhaps their genetics lend them to taking a specific nutrient form you hadn’t previously captured in a protocol. The point is that every patient’s needs are different and in order to get the best outcomes, your recommendations will need to be also.
When you start with an existing protocol, you’re able to quickly tailor a recommendation to suit your patient’s specific needs, speeding through the basics and leaving more time to really customize the details.
If you’re not already using protocols, it’s time to start. They will help you share more products with your patients and save more time in your practice.
